Marc A. Boorstein (mboorstein@mjpartners.com), CCIM, a principal of MJ Partners, has orchestrated over $2 billion in commercial real estate transactions, including self-storage, industrial, office, retail, and special purpose. His over 25 years of experience in privately negotiated real estate sales, financing, and competitive bid sales has served financial institutions, institutional investment firms, REITs, Fortune 500s, governmental agencies and major developers. Previously, Mr. Boorstein served as a management consultant for Price Waterhouse.
He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois, and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He served as president of the Realty Club of Chicago, on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Chapter of the Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM), and is a member of the Association of Industrial Real Estate (AIRE).
Mr. Boorstein has been a featured speaker at the National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives Annual Symposium (NACORE) for the marketing of corporate real estate. He has been both published and appeared in numerous articles of national publications. These include the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Commercial Investment Real Estate Journal, Commercial Lender, Commercial Mortgage Insight, Inside Self-Storage and Mini-Storage Messenger. One of the foremost experts in the self-storage industry, Mr. Boorstein is responsible for orchestrating the disposition and acquisition of self-storage facilities for operators, investors, and lenders nationwide. He is a keynote speaker at National Association of Self-Storage conventions, and has a long-standing affiliation with the Chicago and National Association of Realtors.
Jeffrey L. Jacobson (jjacobson@mjpartners.com), a principal of MJ Partners, spearheads innovative real estate sale and leasing programs nationwide. To date, this effort has totaled more than five hundred million dollars for a number of institutional clients.
Mr. Jacobson is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Business Administration where he was an All-American baseball player and later part of the Baltimore Orioles professional baseball organization. He is a 21-year real estate veteran who is a published author in national publications including the Chicago Tribune, Commercial Lender and Commercial Investment Real Estate Journal. He has been a featured speaker at the Illinois CPA Society, the Foundations Annual Real Estate Conference and at Real Estate Investment Association (REIA) events, an organization for which he is a member.
Mr. Jacobson also serves on the Real Estate Investment Association (REIA), the University of Michigan Business School Alumni Association, and is a Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM) candidate. He is a charter member of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors (NICAR) and member of the Illinois and National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Dennis R. Nyren (dnyren@mjpartners.com) is an Illinois registered real estate broker and commercial mortgage banker who has more than 30 years experience in the financing and sale of commercial real estate nationwide. Mr. Nyren holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Economics from Lake Forest College and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He entered the real estate business in 1977 as a loan officer at Walter E. Heller International Corporation (NYSE) where he subsequently rose to Vice President – Commercial Mortgage Production. Mr. Nyren has previously worked at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago and The Northern Trust Company of Illinois.
In 1983, Mr. Nyren joined Capital Realty Services, Inc. and its related real estate development company, Charles River Development, Inc. as principal. These companies financed, acquired, developed and or managed major real estate projects from California to Massachusetts, including hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family, industrial and other income producing properties as well as acted as a commercial loan correspondent to major insurance companies. In 1996, Mr. Nyren formed LaSalle Realty & Mortgage Company which was subsequently merged with MJ Partners Capital Services in 2001 to provide commercial real estate mortgage and equity financing and investment sales. To date, Mr. Nyren has financed or sold commercial real estate properties in more than 30 states with a value in excess of $3 billion.
Mr. Nyren is a Trustee of Lake Forest College as well as a Director of Lake Forest Open Lands and The Liberty Prairie Conservancy in Grayslake, Illinois.
